   Supplies:

Copics for coloring the skin:

  • E000
  • E01
  • E11
  • R20
My light source is the upper right so add in shadows on the face accordingly. This is a very small space so be sure to work with the tip of the marker when adding in shadows for the nose and eyelids. Use the tip-to-tip transfer technique to color in the blush on the cheeks:

The beginnings of a pleated dress. This is unblended using copic colors E30 (for the base) and feathering in E42 and E43 for the shadows in the pleats. Be sure to use a feather stroke:

Copic Coloring Tutorial by Sherrie Siemens To deepen the shadows in the pleats use the tip to tip transfer technique taking a little E49 color and blend it in with the E30 base tone: Copic Coloring Tutorial by Sherrie Siemens Use the same technique for pleats coloring on the waistband sash. This is the unblended photo so that you can see where I put the shadows. Use BG11 for the base and then deepen the shadows using BG53 and BG57: Copic Coloring Tutorial by Sherrie Siemens After blending I noticed that the color was a little too green and too vibrant. I added some more blue tones and cooled the color at the same time by adding C1 over top: Copic Coloring Tutorial by Sherrie Siemens Airbrush the white embellishment with BG57. A light misting is all it takes: Copic Coloring Tutorial by Sherrie Siemens Here is a finished close up of her face so that you can see the details in the facial shadows:

The hair colors are:

  • E11
  • E25
  • E49

Another little tip: Buy white embellishments so that you can customize them to suit your project. The pearls were originally white; I colored them with BG11.
