This course is closely modeled after our LIVE Standard Certification classes that have been so successful across North America for the past decade! This class is intended as an overview and introduction to Copic products and how to use them successfully in papercrafting. Whether you are a beginner, or someone who just wants to learn more about Copics, you will love this class! The material covered in the course can be used for teaching classes or educating employees and is appropriate for enthusiasts who want to further their knowledge of Copics. During the two-week course, we will cover different types of markers and their uses. We will also cover the Copic color wheel, color values, and natural blending groups. You will learn what types of papers, surfaces, inks, and other materials that work well with Copic markers. Lastly, you will become familiar with the airbrush system and its different uses. Although the instructor will be using many different Copic colors in the videos (see list here), you can improvise with as few as six Copic markers(a blending group of three markers and a blender pen). Two weeks prior to taking the course you will receive: a Standard Certification Manual, a blender pen, a blending group of three markers and two various inks that can be used in the course. Additionally, you will receive printed images that you will color during different chapters of the course. These will be need to be uploaded during the lessons so the instructor can review student work, offer comments, and give helpful feedback. The images are not graded by your instructor and are used strictly to generate feedback that will help you get the best performance out of your markers. As previously mentioned, the course has an airbrushing section, so you will need to have an airbrush system available to use during this class. If you have a compressor, you will need an ABS 3 to use with it. If you do not have a compressor, you may purchase the ABSN2 system at a discounted price, when you purchase your online class. Either system is required to complete the course. Each certification course has a beginning and ending date that is two weeks long and has specific beginning and ending dates. You can take the course at your discretion and leisure during that two-week period. In addition to giving you feedback on your coloring work throughout the course, your instructor will have office hours once a week to answer questions you may have. All work must be completed and uploaded during this time period. There will be no extensions or exceptions granted for any reason. You will be able to see the assignments you have completed and keep track of what you still need to do. When all assignments have been completed, you will be mailed your Standard Certification Certificate. After the two-week course has ended, you will not be able to access your completed assignments or any other coursework materials.
